Digital Transformations

In these works I introduced variation into formal images such as scanned drawings, photographs or renderings of mathematical constructs. We expect certain forms and patterns in such objects, and I use these expectations within an evolving process to create new images.

A central activity is juxtaposing views to allow many transformations to operate at once. Defining color palettes is an especially intriguing part of this work.  I may also merge an image with itself and with other images that seem related. In the process I discover and assign color and form through further formal operations. After printing an image, I destroy the digital source, keeping only a mid-sized JPEG for  web and print display.
